This was also Aaron's first "buying" experience for Room 5! (I am a proud wife/business owner :0) )
Earlier this spring we were on a weekend trip to Kansas City and had some time to kill before our dinner reservations, so we decided to stop by a large retailer to "scope out the competition." Ha! Just kidding, I actually didn't have the slightest bit of business on my mind - I was on vacation! So, here I am, in my own little shopping world, completely wrapped up in this throw pillow that I'm trying to decide if I can duplicate the pattern - but in my preferred colors, when Aaron and his sister spot a candle display. So we mosey on over and to check it out and to our great surprise these candles are FANTASTIC!
Aaron immediately tells me that Room 5 needs to carry these. Vacation buzz gone... Back to business I go.
I already have a candle line that I like. The scents are great but if I'm being honest, the packaging is rather dull. And every retailer knows, to make a sale, its imperative that you first be able to catch the customer's eye. Beanpod Candles have a simple clean packaging that is at the same time beautiful and doesn't take away from the product; the scents are fantastic and the colors are gorgeous. To top it all off the price point is excellent.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and I am meeting with the local Representative from Beanpod. I learned that Beanpod is a local (Midwest - Iowa) company and they use local soybeans from local soybean farmers. Even better! I try very hard to look first to Local and then Made in the U.S.A products/companies for items when possible. Next thing I knew, I was trying my best to narrow down my choices from approximately 65 scents and about 15 color options. Not an easy task, let me tell you!! But I am in LOVE with my final selection.
